This One's For You, Erin!

And while I'm in the realm of silliness...
Check out this NY Times link, to an op-ed. piece by LOST creator Damon Lindelof (tongue fairly firmly in cheek) on why Harry must die.

Enjoy!

LOL!! Thanks so much for posting that! I got a good and hearty chuckle out of that one. And yes, Damon, you would know a thing or two about lots of people dying and gratuitous explosions, wouldn't you? *waggles finger*

I also got a laugh out of his reference to the Ewoks and his slight on the poor, unsuspecting cricket. I should try to watch a match online sometime to show my solidarity with the Brits...

I suppose Damon figured throughout season three that we were thinking, "Nah. They wouldn't kill Charlie. They wouldn't dare." I'm not sure it exactly qualifies as a surprise with all that foreshadowing, but I bet a lot of us figured he'd get a last-minute reprieve. I think perhaps I could do without some of Damon's "surprises"...

Anyway, Harry's death could happen... But I don't think it will. That doesn't necessarily mean I'll be any happier about whoever it is who doesn't survive...

Ha! I knew you'd like this one. It was actually part of a series of articles written by various writers about how they think Harry will end. All very tongue in cheek and silly, some of them moreso than others. Lindelof's was the best, in my humble opinion, and certainly the funniest, especially when you consider the source and the kinds of things he's writing himself!

And oh yes, I was one of those people who believed Charlie would get a last-minute reprieve. I am still not convinced he had to die, or that his death made much sense. But then, all along, Dana and I had a fun theory that everybody else on the island would eventually die or get off the island, and leave Claire and Charlie and baby to start the world over. Hmm...seems we were a bit wrong about that one!

You know, I was just saying to Mom the other day that I kinda figured we might see Claire and Charlie get married on the island at some point, especially when they brought in a priest! But then they axed Eko - which still strikes me as one of the most pointless deaths thus far, though I guess he wanted off the show - and then Charlie, so looks like that's out...

Hm, I'll have to check out those other articles. :) By the way, Dad's on book four now!
